Students around the world are striking for climate action and health professionals can offer support by showing up in full force. Most actions in Canada are taking place on September 27, following the leadership of student strikers in Quebec.
The Comox Valley Nurses for Health and the Environment are supporting the work of Climate Strike Canada and Fridays for Future by mobilizing health professionals in the Comox Valley to to come out and support the students.
Please join us and walk behind the CVNHE banner to show your support. We also encourage you to make signs showing the health impacts of climate change.
Children and students have shown incredible leadership at these actions and it's important that health professionals attending the actions are supportive without taking centre stage. The Health Host of this action has already reached out to let the students know that health professionals are coming. The global climate strike page also has some great tips about supporting students in a way that doesn't take over their event. You can find those here: https://globalclimatestrike.net/organise/#community

If you can't leave work to attend a rally, there is still a lot you can do to support the student strikes. Learn about actions you can take at work here.
